COMPOUND BOW GROUP BEGINNERS COURSES (evenings)
A 3 week 1 hour per week
(weekday evening) beginners course in shooting a compound bow.
All equipment supplied -
Compound Bow, Sight & Scope , Peep Sight, Launcher, Release Aid &
Arrows in fact every thing you need to get started.
Week 1 - Introduction to
compounds, how to set them up, safety and how to shoot one.
Week 2 - Shooting a
compound bow (allocated to you for the course) which will be set up by you
with our help for your weight and draw length - no half measures on this
course.
Week 3 - More shooting
and refining technique.
Maximum 6 people on a
course

built Pro Shop and shooting range at Raydon or Braintree
Course cost is a
reasonable £75.00 per person for the 3 weeks.
Courses run subject to a
minimum number of attendees but we believe that there will be a lot of interest as
there are many archers and non archers who would like to try and or take up compound
archery but the logistics of learning up to now have been a barrier.
We will also be running
group courses during the day and additional one to one training at both
Raydon & Braintree at a cost of £75 per hour.

This course is designed
for anyone with an interest in learning about and shooting a compound bow
safely. You do not need to be a member of an archery club or have any
experience in archery to get the best out of this course.
The compound bow is
different to the more traditional longbow and Olympic recurve. It uses
cams (pulleys) to help you bend the limbs and when you have pulled it all
the way back the cams reduce the pulling weight so unlike a traditional
bow you have less weight pulling on your fingers before you let the arrow
go. It may on first glance look more complicated but it is not in fact the
design makes the compound bow easy to shoot and is suitable for Men
and Women of all ages and strengths to enjoy archery.
Beginners Courses
Have you
ever wanted to try archery but never been sure how to find out more?
We strongly recommend that
anyone wishing to do archery, whether at a club or in their back garden
attend a beginners course first (the cynically minded would say of course
you do). However it is not because we run courses, but to ensure that you
are able to use the equipment correctly and to shoot safely (not just for
the archers sake but everyone nearby).
Using our indoor ranges at
Ipswich and Braintree we can offer you the opportunity to attend a 3 week beginners course.
The scheduled group courses cost
a reasonable £45.00 per person and are run over three 1 hour sessions. We
will teach you the basics of how to shoot and all equipment and tuition is
included.
We can also run one to one
beginners sessions these cost £35 per hour and again include all
equipment and tuition.

Notes:
Minimum age 8 years
Please also note that
juniors aged 8-17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult guardian at
all times if no guardian is present the junior will not be able to shoot.
