PERRIS ARCHERY STORY

Perris
Archery is a Certified Beiter Dealer

New armguard from
Flex buy it here
Dear
Perris Archery I have just read your article on choosing new arrows and,
for all those out there who are tempted to order over the internet,
don’t! I was at the
Braintree
branch under a month ago thinking I wouldn’t mind buying a set of
X10s….until Tony took me aside. Not only did he save me well over £100
by recommending ACC's, he also spent nearly two hours preparing them for
me (including standing me in the range and making me fire unfletched
arrows to find the correct spine) and then reminding me of the basic
technique that he, after all, had taught me in the first place, and then
allowing me to spend more time on my own in the range testing out the
new arrows. I cannot recommend Perris Archery high enough (and it’s
not just Tony, it’s everyone) for their professionalism, their
friendly and expert service, and their sheer and obvious love of
archery. If the shop had not closed (and if my partner had not returned
from the nearby designer village) I would have stayed there all night.-
Many, many thanks. JE
"I
just wanted to say thanks for sorting out my bow setup on Friday. It
shoots really sweet now, balances well and no vibration". - Kevin
Hi guys,
Just a big thank you
for helping me select all the correct goodies when I came to you
recently. Derek was the most patient of people, carefully guiding me
through everything I required with no bias towards the more expensive
kit and I fully appreciate the time spent with all the help and advice
(free as well), I have already returned to your Aladdin's cave in
Braintree and will always continue to do so. What more could a budding
novice require!!!!!! again many thanks. .
"Having
just purchased my BMG/Kap Recurve I can only say how impressed I was
with the friendly, patient and professional attention I received. There
was never any sense of hurry and spending nearly 3 and a 1/2 hours
choosing and testing was a very enjoyable experience. Now the proud
owner of some fine equipment 100% happy! I have no hesitation in
recommending your service and shall be a regular visitor! Thank
you".

The Perris Archery
Story
When time permits we be putting together the history of Perris Archery. We
hope that it will be of interest to archers and provide a greater
insight in to our experience in all matters archery. Which is all put to
good use when you visit us.
To start things off,
attached is a brochure about our famous Perris Whitehart Bow. Which perhaps a
testament to it's design and build quality is still highly regarded and shot by a number of archers all over the world today, some 25 years
since it was launched. In it's hey day, especially all over the Southeast
there was not a weekend competition somewhere, where the winner was not
shooting a Perris Whitehart.
The brochure also includes
some technical data, which may be of interest to anyone who has recently
acquired one of these bows, as they still command a good price on auction
sites like ebay.
Sadly, production of the
Perris Whitehart ceased just over 3 years ago, not because of a lack of demand
but because it was not possible to get the limbs manufactured to our
exact specifications. So it was felt it would be better not to continue
with what we would consider to be an inferior product. If you ever get the
chance to handle, or even better shoot one you will then understand what
all the fuss was about.

this email with you
FAO Tony and Suzanne Preston
Dear Tony / Suzanne,
I was just looking over your website
when I came across the following mention of your Whitehart:
Although I was devastated to hear
that its no longer in production, I just thought you'd like to know that
there's one still up and running in Suffolk. Inspired by Rob Markham's
apparently faultless shooting with his Whitehart, I bought mine (a sliver
and black, 66", 34 lbs with the Sherwood TFC limb bolts) second-hand
from a chap called Mitch Vaughan when we were both shooting for Mayflower
Archers in 1992 or 1993. Just after I bought it, you were kind enough to
help me set it up with a set of ACCs and a set of aluminium Arten
stabilisers plus a Spigarelli Grand Prix sight. I think that this was in
the shop that you used to have (still have?) in or near Capel St Mary.
I've replaced the longrod, V-Bars
and mono with Arten carbons, but aside from that this is the same set-up I
was shooting in the early 1990s (even the arrows - 1 Doz, refletched and
re-nocked, but otherwise intact). This took me all the way through Uni
(Southampton 1994 - 7) including a few BUSA events and local tournaments
down-South, and is now still performing well (527 on the British Archer
Portsmouth last Tuesday) as I shoot at Deben AC near Ipswich (this is a
weird experience, as I went from Mayflower where every second person had
one, to Deben where mine is the only one....). Inevitably I probably will
buy another new bow at some point (and destroy any hope I ever had of
achieving any decent scores in the process, I've no doubt), but I just
thought you'd like to know this Whitehart's still going strong. Even if I
ever do buy a new bow, talk of Ebaying mine fills me with a sense of
dread! I don't think I'll ever be able to give it up! Thank you; this bow
has given me years of pleasure and remains one of the nicest bows I've
ever shot.
